Volunteer at Adoptions

At times we hold adoptions at various locations. If you can spare a few hours on the weekends that we hold adoptions, we would love your help! (No experience necessary)

Become a Foster Parent

More than 100,000 dogs each year are euthanized. Most of these dogs are owner surrenders. Some of the dogs have been abused. We are always looking for long term fosters that will help these poor dogs overcome their fears and come back to the dog they once were before being abused or neglected. All dogs are temperament tested prior to entering our program. We provide a crate, food, leash, collar, water and food bowls, heartworm and flea meds, spay/neuter and vaccine's so all you have to provide is the day to day care, and love! Do you have a space and dedication to dogs but not the schedule to commit to a pet of your own? Fostering is GREAT and we can arrange for the foster dog to board at Petzone if you need to go out of town. Thanks for taking the first step to helping homeless dogs!

Fundraising

The more folks we get to help us out in fundraising, the more we can accomplish. If you have an idea of a specific fundraiser be sure to let us know, and what you are interested in doing. Please email petzonefundraising@gmail.com to get started! You can also directly donate and encourage your friends and co workers to do the same to help us help more dogs. Cuss Jar's, car washes or bake sale's at your sorority, fraternity, or workplace are just a few ideas to raise funds for Petzone Dogs!

Sponsoring a Dog

There are times when one of our rescue dogs may need vet attention due to being ill or injured. Because Petzone is a 501c3 non-profit, we run on donations. If there is no money, we are very limited on providing the best possible care for these deserving dogs. By sponsoring a dog, you are helping that one dog. Your money is helping to keep them healthy and happy! Please click the paypal button below, specify the dog by name whom you want to sponsor, and list name or company or anonymous (how you want the sponsorship listed). No amount is too small, but it costs about $200 to get a healthy dog vetted and ready for adoption, and about $50-100 per month to house, feed, clean up after, and keep flea free and prevent heartworms per dog. Below is an example of what it REALLY costs to house these dogs. Please donate and encourage your friends and co workers to help us help more dogs. Cuss Jar's at your sorority, fraternity, or workplace is also a good idea to raise funds for Petzone Dogs!

• $20 per month ($240 per year) for a premium food such as Science Diet, Iams, or Pro Plan (costs based on 40 lb. bags of food, 20 lbs. consumed per month)
• $10 per month for various dog treats
• $100 - $300 for annual vaccinations and heartworm checks and medications as preventative
• $20+ per month for flea/tick prevention
• $20+per month for each grooming session
• $50 per month for housing the pet, water, electric, and having a caretaker come in to clean, bathe, etc
• $50 per month for bedding, clothes for little ones, and toys
• $50+ for a crate
• Fencing - Actual or Electronic can cost hundreds or thousands.
• Older dogs often have more medical expenses (just like people!)

Public Relations

Petzone is always looking for people who can devote some time during the week to help prepare press releases, send stories to local newspapers or television news stations, submitting article's to magazine's, contacting radio stations about upcoming events and or fundraisers or keep people updated about our dogs for adoption on Facebook, Twitter or Myspace. 

Grooming and Socializing

At Petzone the chore's are endless, and the routine cleaning takes up most of the day. We would love to have specific volunteers around for grooming and socializing the dogs. Please just show up during regular hours and we'll be glad to hand you a list of dogs that need either brushing or bathing. 

We are an approved site for community service, boy/girl/cub scouts, 4-H, schools and more!
